We are thrilled to tell you that the annual Children’s Respite Trust Charity Golf Day, hosted in association with Simple Safety Advice, has once again been a tee-rific success. The event raised a smashing £4,601, so thank you to all those that attended, donated prizes and sponsored.
The winning team was Crusader Vehicles followed by Redwing Roofing and then Trinity Civil Engineering. The Individual winner was Martin Sherwin from Roselands Heating with Robbie Whittaker from PJ Brown coming in second. Third place on countback was Allan Parker-Reed representing the Children’s Respite Trust team.
The longest drive was won by Jordan Tatham of Crusader Vehicles, who won a bucket of beer donated by the Gun Brewery and the main nearest the pin prize was won by Garry Pickles of Soil Instruments who won entry to the Dean David Golf Day at the Oxfordshire Club.
Around 90 people joined us at Sweetwoods Golf Club for breakfast, golf and lunch on a beautiful summer’s day. There were some fantastic prizes up for grabs in the raffle and auction, so our sincere thanks go to all who donated prizes, including: Julie Bellamy of CBS Bookkeeping, John Kerr of Kerr Forge, Nick Rehbein of JGPS Consulting, Roland White and Nick Wherry of the Bingham Agency, Sweetwoods Park Golf Club, Stockwood Vale Golf Club, Phil Cole from Walls of Fame in Heathfield, East Sussex National Golf Club, the Gun Brewery, Alison Purves, Applegreen Garage, Sarah Allen, Middle Farm, Food for Comfort, Yes Promo Products and Skylark Restaurant.
The teams that attended were very generous buying raffle tickets and bidding in the auction. A special thanks go to the hole sponsors including Redwing Roofing, Summit Environmental, Roselands Heating, SDS Drylining, Trinity Homes, Hallson Homes, ATH Training, Edmund Services, Print Matters, GFC Commercial, Edmund Services, Quantum Digital and David Haskoll Ltd. Without the support from local sponsors like these we are unable to put on these events.
The Sweetwoods team did us proud with breakfast and lunch and the course was in fantastic condition. The pictures are courtessy of Chris Underhill Photography.
Our final thanks go to our co-organisers, Simple Safety Advice, for all of their time effort and dedication that has helped to raise this fantastic total – it will make a big difference to our ability to care for disabled children across throughout county and beyond.
