Our development
The Children’s Respite Trust is delighted to have acquired a fantastic building in November 2017 which we are developing into a warm, welcoming and homely respite centre in the heart of the Charity’s catchment area, Uckfield, East Sussex.
To assist us on this journey, Meeching Lodge have very kindly been fundraising over the last few months by holding regular raffles, and they managed to reach a whopping £400! This coupled with match funding from the Provincial lodge, it doubled to an incredible £800!
We are going to use this fantastic amount towards the wall coverings in the centre, this will include the wall papering, and painting, to make the centre a warm and fun environment for the children we care for.
Meeching Lodge History
Meeching Lodge No 7001 is based at the East Brighton Masonic Centre in the Sussex town of Peacehaven in the UK.
Peacehaven is situated against the green backdrop of the Sussex Downs to the north and the white chalk cliff tops overlooking the English Channel to the south.
In the Millenium Year, Meeching Lodge celebrated the 50th year since it’s consecration on the 30th September 1950. The occasion was marked by a special meeting on the 30th September 2000 when a new banner was dedicated to the memory of the founding members of the Lodge.
Thank you’s and keeping in touch
We would like to thank Meeching Lodge for being so incredibly generous and supporting the Trust as they have. We are honoured to have such fantastic support on our journey of developing the centre, and we cannot wait to invite them back for our grand opening to show them the incredible work they have funded.
