The Children’s Respite Trust has received a heart warming and generous donation from VEGA Controls, a leading instrumentation and sensor technology company. In a remarkable act of community support, VEGA Controls donated eight brand-new scooters to the Trust, bringing joy and excitement to the children who benefit from our services.
O3e organised an exciting event that focused on enhancing teamwork and collaboration among VEGA’s employees through the meaningful activity of assembling scooters, all of which were donated to the Children’s Respite Trust. The newly built scooters are now helping children with special needs, as well as their siblings, to engage in outdoor activities, boosting both physical and emotional well-being.
Making a Tangible Difference
VEGA’s donation has had an immediate and tangible impact on the children we support. For many children with special needs, mobility and coordination can be daily challenges. The donated scooters, are providing them with new opportunities to play, exercise, and enjoy outdoor freedom. One parent said “We had great fun just getting out as a family with the scooter, thank you!”.
Supporting the Siblings Club
In addition to benefiting children with special needs, the donation is also making a positive impact on the Siblings at the Children’s Respite Trust. The Siblings Club provides a safe and supportive environment for brothers and sisters of children with disabilities, many of whom often feel overlooked due to the extra attention their sibling may require. The scooters donated by VEGA have already become a hit at the sessions with Siblings Lead Abi saying, “These scooters have been the perfect addition to our group. Not only have they inspired the children to get outside but it’s also made them feel truly valued when they can often feel overlooked. Thank you so much VEGA”
