Over the February half-term, the Children’s Respite trust hosted a week of fun fuelled days for our young people. These days included trips out, activities at the centre and celebrations.
We were lucky enough to have Valentine’s Day and Pancake Day in the same week so there was lots of excitement amongst our stars. We made sure to celebrate with the children through a variety of accessible activities and games including finger painting and creating artwork using objects of interested like toy cars. For some the fun didn’t stop there – they chose to get glam for the occasion with hair chalk and glitter.
The Siblings also got their time to shine with a special trip to Ninja Arena assault course in Eastbourne. They got to run around, show off and have a great time with friends. They particularly enjoyed challenging support workers Abi and Verity to races around the course. One of the children said that ‘it was the best day out’.
The All Stars group also took a trip to a local care home Abbots Wood Manor in Hailsham where they had coffee and cakes with some of the residents. They learned about the resident’s favourite things and talked about their lives. We are so pleased to say the visit was such a success that the young people will be visiting again.
We hope the children had the best time during the week and we look forward to seeing them all soon in the Easter holidays.
